We had no real agenda today other than to visit the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, which is located in her home that is on the Grand Canal. We wanted to visit this museum because it contains her private collection of modern art, as well as some pictures of the house from when she lived there. You can only see so many paintings from the 1500's before it's time for a change. The museum was great and in a quaint little area we had not visited yet. In the afternoon we decided to take a boat ride to a small island called Burano, which is famous for its lace. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there, but the island was beautiful, and every house is painted in a pastel color scheme. See picture below. We returned to Venice in time for a nice dinner, and then Corley bought a box full of home-made chocolates and what nots for the ride to Budapest.
