wien
we left budapest on a mid morning train and arrived to vienna mid afternoon. we were welcomed by ice pellets and snow. very austrian. it is cold. we visited the museum of fine art this afternoon which is in a huge building next to the imperial palace. this building was bigger than the white house and fit for royalty. it is now a museum which we only saw the first floor, which houses all the paintings. the rest is sculpture and coins. and really who wants to see coins? afterwards we went to a tiny wine tasting store which was recommended by our travel book which was great. lots of locals. good wine. dave used a bit of his high school german. the local were nice and actually smiled which is new for europe. not a lot of approachable people in europe. we had dinner at an italian restaurant.... apparently every austrian restaurant closes before 7 pm here....interesting. pictures to follow.
Austria huh? Never been there but looking forward to the pictures. Julie took Oscar yesterday, Bitsy and I think its too quiet around here now.Bogey
