Prague

The sun finally came out a bit in Prague even if it was snowing. We started the trip with a guided tour around Prague castle and the Charles Bridge. It was really informative and our guide is a local high school teacher. She teaches this stuff for a living as she is a history teacher and was full of information. We shopped around at some of the local crystal shops and then went up in the old bell tower in Old Town Prague. We had a great lunch at a small restaurant next to a local abbey. The rest of the afternoon was spent getting lost in all the small streets of Prague, then off to the beer hall for dinner. It is really a hall with long tables that you just sit at any open place, and they put a dark beer down in front of you. No questions. Everyone drinks beer there, and then you have a few different options of meals, all including sausages and some sort of potato. We ended up sitting across from a Brazilian couple who now reside in California. We had a great time and really enjoyed their company.

Everyone smokes in Europe but you cant really get away from in it Prague. There are no non-smoking sections and unlike America people will ash on you in the streets. Otherwise, Prague has been great and we have really enjoyed the local flavor. This is a beer drinking town.
